A hike held in a scout's memory
Sampath Ranawaka was a senior scout of the Maliyadeva Scout Group in Kurunegala. He died in 1997, aged seventeen. Two years later the troop held the first exploring competition in his name.
Scouts and Girl Guides from schools across Sri Lanka have come to compete for the trophy ever since.
